This is the program that will prepare your investment and risk team for success in the institutional allocator world.
You need new hires and mid-level transfers to get up to speed: this program will help get them there.
If you’re looking for candidates who can succeed on your allocator team, this is the program for them. When speaking with peers and friends in the allocator world, many noted that the skills required to be successful were learned ‘on the job’. In fact, while there are many programs geared specifically towards candidates interested in other fields, like accounting or investment banking, there was nothing out there for the institutional allocator community.
That’s how the Allocator Training Institute came into existence.
Throughout this program, candidates will build a knowledge base, learn how to use and build specific, actionable tools, and have at hand the knowledge of how an institutional allocator operates.
They’ll learn straight-forward skills like calculating attribution on a multi-asset portfolio, to more complex tasks like building a private equity cash flow pacing model, to senior-level capabilities like creating capital market assumptions and how they impact a strategic asset allocation profile.

Career Growth
For your interns or new hires, they’ll come armed with the actual tools and knowledge needed to hit the ground running from day one. For those mid-level hires, you’ll find that you’ll spend much less time getting them up to speed on the more sophisticated aspects of institutional asset management.
Valuable Insights
Candidates coming out of this program will have actionable knowledge and tools needed to succeed in a career with an institutional allocator. For example, knowing that private foundations have a required 5% spending rate, that endowments have a quasi-legal spending rate, usually between 4.5% – 5%, and that operating non-profits do not have to spend anything.
Quality Content
In designing the curriculum, we made sure to be laser-focused on useful, practical, and applicable knowledge and tools that candidates can use from day one. We’ll show them how it’s done and provide to them the exact and specific tools to do it on their own. That way, you’ll spend less time training them and can expect higher quality work, sooner.
